For many years this was in our basement guest room/library, but for lack of space it’s now in storage. It classifies as upcycled because the legs and (now hidden) upper rails came from a cheap old Ikea coffee table. I added a lower shelf/tray for storing dog toys (or even items for humans, I suppose). I made the bone-shaped top from scratch. I cut out two pieces of the bone shape, spaced a few inches apart, sandwiched around the original frame. I spanned the gap and created the vertical edge around the perimeter with a flexible faux-wood moulding product—which originally had only one curved edge; I had to hand-plane a matching curve into the other long edge. A lot of work, but well worth it. Someday I may come up with a new paint treatment that looks more like an actual dog snack.
