Dimensions: Width 29.75 inches, Height 20.25 inches, Thickness of main piece 3/4 inch, Weight 13 pounds. If you have a dog, or multiple dogs, then you may need a place to hang a leash and anything else you commonly take out with you on your daily w-a-l-k. Of course, it could also be used for coats or umbrellas and so on. This piece would fit nicely in an entryway, hallway or mudroom. The floating glass frames allow for the backing piece to show through—if you choose the right sized pictures of your pooch(es). Two D-rings are mounted on the back, so all you need to hang it in your home is a hammer, two nails, and a wall. $125. Sold at a neighborhood art show.
I found the backing piece in an alley in the Cleveland Park neighborhood of D.C. (Sorry, no “before” picture available.) I sanded it, hand-carved the pawprints, painted them black, and finished the piece with three coats of Minwax water-based clear satin Polycrylic. I added two new picture frames from Michaels and oil-rubbed bronze hooks from my local Ace outlet, Glover Park Hardware.
